Bulgaria weather
Bulgaria is a most beautiful and green country, unspoilt in many ways and just waiting to be explored by people who both enjoy and respect open countryside.
Bulgaria is home to a vast array of birds, wildlife and countless varieties of plants and flowers. Agriculture is very important and it is not unusual to see market stalls on the roadsides or in the city centres offering a range of fresh fruit and vegetables of a size and quality unmatched in many other countries.
Therefore it stands to reason that Bulgaria weather has its fair share of both rain and sunshine. In Bulgaria you will experience the four seasons. Pleasant in the spring, warm in the summer, moderate in the autumn and cold in the winter. The coldest month of the year is January with an average of 0 degrees centigrade. In the summer you will enjoy an average air temperature of 30 degrees.
The
weather in Bulgaria is so different in different parts of the country that it supports all types of sports and holidays. For example in the summer months Bulgaria boasts a high level of sunshine down its Eastern boarder along the Black Sea coast, making resorts like Sunny Beach and Golden Sands ever increasing tourist destinations.
Not only do Eastern Europeans come to Bulgaria to relax along a beautiful unspoilt coastline but Western Europeans in ever increasing numbers come looking for an “off the beaten track” holiday. The centre of Bulgaria has its fair share of rain as well as sunshine, and so we have the wonderful “Rose Valley” and vineyards. To the West along the Rhodopi Mountains and others we have a long season of snow covered peaks, perfect for skiing.
Bulgaria has an advantage over many countries in the fact that its diverse regions and climate, can maintain low temperatures in the winter to produce snow peaked mountains perfect for skiing, and high temperatures in the summer perfect for those lazy days sunbathing on the beaches. Bulgarians and of course the many visitors to the ski slopes, can enjoy snow covered peaks from December round to May.
On the other hand if the cold and skiing is not for you, once summer comes around, you too have your opportunity. For many years people from Eastern Europe have basked in the warm Bulgarian sunshine along the Black Sea coastline, only now being enjoyed by tourists from Western Europe. Varna, Sunny Beach and Bourgas to name but three have lovely sandy beaches and are fast becoming tourist attractions both for the
Bulgaria weather and the facilities they enjoy.
